Important Tips:

• Gravity Settling: The method applies to both oil and water suspensions. In hot weather, water baths should be checked more frequently due to increased evaporation.
• Particle Measurement: Settled particles indicate the amount of magnetic particles in suspension. Use a UV light for fluorescent particles. Exclude any dirt particles from your readings, as they do not fluoresce under black light and differ in appearance from magnetic particles.

Bath Maintenance Tips:

• Agitate the bath before and during use to maintain proper suspension.
• Clean the agitator pipe monthly or more frequently if necessary to prevent clogs and ensure smooth flow.
• Regularly check for evaporation and contamination. If the bath becomes overly contaminated, indications may not form effectively.
• Cover equipment when not in use to reduce contamination and evaporation.
