Class 1 Sound Level Analyzer Kit with Octave Analysis AWA6228+
Couldn't load pickup availability
The AWA6228+ Advanced Class 1 Noise Analysis Kit is a complete professional system for environmental noise surveys, engineering investigations, machinery noise analysis and acoustic troubleshooting.
Built around the AWA6228+ Class 1 Sound Level Analyzer with frequency analysis, the kit combines integrating and statistical noise measurement, data logging and real-time 1/1 octave analysis with a Class 1 acoustic calibrator, tripod and remote microphone system.
It is designed for professional users who need to do more than simply measure how loud a noise is — the AWA6228+ can also help determine which frequency bands are contributing to the noise.

Why Choose the Advanced Kit?
This kit is intended for applications where overall sound level alone doesn't tell the full story.
A conventional sound level meter can establish that a noise problem exists.
The AWA6228+ adds frequency analysis, allowing the user to investigate where that noise sits within the frequency spectrum.
This is particularly valuable when:
- Identifying machinery noise sources
- Investigating tonal noise
- Selecting noise-control measures
- Investigating low-frequency noise
- Comparing equipment
- Assessing environmental noise
- Troubleshooting acoustic problems
The tripod, microphone holder and extension cable also allow the measurement microphone to be positioned independently of the operator and instrument.
AWA6228+ Class 1 Sound Level Analyzer
The AWA6228+ is a configurable Class 1 professional acoustic measurement platform.
The configuration supplied in this kit includes:
- Integrating sound level measurement
- Statistical noise analysis
- Data logging / time history
- 1/1 octave real-time frequency analysis
Main Measurements
- Lp
- Leq
- Lmax
- Lmin
- SEL
- Statistical Ln values
- Peak sound levels
- Time-history data
- Real-time octave-band levels
1/1 Octave Frequency Analysis
The included octave analysis divides the measured sound into individual frequency bands.
This helps determine whether a noise problem is dominated by:
- Low-frequency rumble
- Machinery frequencies
- Mid-frequency process noise
- High-frequency components
- Particular octave bands
This information is particularly useful when designing or selecting:
- Acoustic enclosures
- Barriers
- Silencers
- Absorption materials
- Hearing protection
- Engineering noise controls

AWA6021A Class 1 Sound Calibrator
The included AWA6021A provides Class 1 field calibration and verification of the complete measurement chain.
Selectable calibration levels:
- 94 dB @ 1 kHz
- 114 dB @ 1 kHz
A field calibration check can be performed before and after a survey to verify measurement stability.
Remote Microphone Measurement
One of the major differences between this kit and the simpler professional kits is the included remote microphone setup.
The system includes:
- AWA8814 Tripod
- AWA8820 Microphone Holder
- AWA8732 5 m Extension Cable
This allows the microphone to be mounted on the tripod while the sound level analyzer remains with the operator.
Advantages
- Keeps the operator away from the microphone
- Reduces acoustic reflections from the operator
- Allows accurate microphone positioning
- Makes the display easier to operate during measurement
- Ideal for longer environmental surveys
- Improves consistency between measurements
Typical Applications
- Professional environmental noise surveys
- Industrial boundary noise
- Machinery noise investigations
- Engineering noise control
- Noise-source identification
- Frequency analysis
- Tonal noise investigation
- Construction noise
- Traffic and community noise
- Factory noise
- Acoustic consulting
- Product noise measurement
- Environmental compliance surveys
- Long-duration monitoring
- Research and development
